Ingredients
  

Dough Ingredients
  • 200 ml warm water Should be warm, not hot.
  • 7 g dry yeast
  • 350 g all-purpose flour Can substitute with whole wheat flour.
  • 50 g sugar Optional for sweetness; can use a substitute.
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 45 g butter Melted; can brush on top before baking for flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.
  3. Add the yeast mixture and melted butter to the dry ingredients.
  4. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Baking
  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
  2. Punch down the dough, shape it into a loaf, and place in a greased loaf pan.
  3. Let rise for another 30-40 minutes.
  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Allow to cool before slicing.

Notes

Store in a bread bag or wrap in plastic wrap at room temperature for a few days. Can be frozen by slicing and wrapping each slice in plastic wrap before placing in a freezer bag.
