Preparation
- In a bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a separate bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.
- Add the yeast mixture and melted butter to the dry ingredients.
- Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth.
- Place in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Baking
- Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
- Punch down the dough, shape it into a loaf, and place in a greased loaf pan.
- Let rise for another 30-40 minutes.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to cool before slicing.
Notes
Store in a bread bag or wrap in plastic wrap at room temperature for a few days. Can be frozen by slicing and wrapping each slice in plastic wrap before placing in a freezer bag.
