Ingredients
  

Dough ingredients
  • 500 g flour
  • 280 ml warm water Ensure it's warm, not hot.
  • 8 g dry yeast Fresh yeast for best results.
  • 1 tablespoon sugar To activate the yeast.
  • 30 g powdered milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 piece egg
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 50 g butter Melted for the dough.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast on top and let it sit for about 10 minutes, until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, powdered milk, and salt.
  3. Add the yeast mixture, egg, olive oil, and melted butter to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes, until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Baking
  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Punch down the risen dough and shape it into rolls.
  3. Place the rolls on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, cover, and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  5. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

These rolls are great by themselves or with butter, jam, or your favorite spread. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
