Ingredients
  

Churro Dough
  • 200 ml water
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 50 g butter
  • 120 g flour
Filling and Coating
  • Hazelnut cream For filling
  • Oil For frying
  • Sugar For coating

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a saucepan, combine water, sugar, salt, and butter. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in the flour until the mixture forms a ball.
  3. Allow the dough to cool slightly, then pipe it into churro shapes onto parchment paper.
Cooking
  1. Heat oil in a deep pan, and fry the churros until golden brown.
  2. Remove churros from oil and drain on paper towels, then roll in sugar.
  3. Once cooled, fill the churros with hazelnut cream using a piping bag.

Notes

Best served warm. Pair with a cup of hot chocolate or coffee. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days. Unfilled churros can be frozen and reheated in the oven.
