Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a floured surface and cut it into squares.
- In the center of each square, place a slice of ham and a generous amount of cheese.
- If desired, spread a little Dijon mustard or mayonnaise on the ham and cheese.
- Season with black pepper.
- Fold the pastry squares over to create triangles and press the edges to seal.
- Brush the tops with the beaten egg.
- Place the pockets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Cooking
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Serve warm, fresh from the oven, on their own or with a side of dipping sauce. To store leftovers, place them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or freeze them unbaked for up to 2 months.
