Dough Ingredients
  • 1.5 tsp instant yeast Ensure it's fresh for proper activation.
  • 1 cup lukewarm water Water must be lukewarm, not too hot or cold.
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.25 cup butter, melted
Frying Ingredients
  • Oil for frying Use enough oil for deep frying.

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine warm water, instant yeast, and brown sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add melted butter, salt, cinnamon, and granulated sugar to the mixture. Gradually add flour until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
Shaping and Frying
  1. Roll out the dough and cut it into strips. Twist each strip and form into a donut shape.
  2. Heat oil in a deep fryer. Fry the donuts until golden brown, then drain on paper towels.
  3. Dust with cinnamon sugar and serve warm.

Notes

For added sweetness, serve with a mixture of cinnamon and sugar. Can be paired with coffee or tea. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
