Preparation
- In a bowl, dissolve the instant yeast in lukewarm water. Add brown sugar and stir. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In another bowl, mix flour, cinnamon, salt, and sugar. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and beaten egg. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth. Cover and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Roll out the dough and cut into strips. Twist them into donut shapes.
Frying
- Heat oil in a pan for frying. Fry the donuts until golden brown on both sides.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
Serving
- Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm.
Notes
Make sure the water is lukewarm for yeast activation. Knead well for fluffy donuts and monitor oil temperature while frying.
