Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder Make sure it's fresh for best rise.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 large egg
Cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice) Feel free to experiment with different types of cheese.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, and egg.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Fold in the shredded cheese.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan.
Baking
  1. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  2. Let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

Cheese bread tastes great warm or at room temperature. Slice it and serve it plain, or add butter. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat when ready to eat.
