  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened 226g
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar 150g
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour 265g
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg yolk, vanilla extract, and salt, and mix until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the flour, mixing until just incorporated.
  5. Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
Baking
  1. Pipe the cookies onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper in desired shapes.
  2. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  3. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Dust with powdered sugar for added sweetness. Pairs wonderfully with tea or coffee. Can dip in melted chocolate for an extra treat.
