Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Sift the self-rising flour into a bowl.
- Work in the lard, shortening, or butter until well combined.
- Add the sweet milk or buttermilk and mix until a dough forms.

- Roll out to about 1/2 inch thick and cut into rounds.
Baking
- Place biscuits on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
